If you haven't read my blog entry back in February 2008 titled "Acappella Anyone?" you really should read it. If you don't have time to read it, at least check out the pictures. It is quite funny!
And, this blog entry is a follow-up to that blog entry.
Hubby decided that Annabelle was going to buy him a CD to replace the Acappella tape she tore up back in February. I'm not quite sure how "Annabelle" is going to pay for it, but according to her Daddy, she is! So, should I withdraw the funds from her savings account? Hee hee!
Well, the CD arrived this evening, so hubby decided to play it for Annabelle and me. He put the CD into the CD player, and the first song mentioned Jesus.
A few short verses into the song, Annabelle leaves the living room, goes into her bedroom, and brings back to the living room with her a book of Bible songs that we often read to her.
Coincidence or not? I don't think so. I think she heard the name "Jesus" in the song, and she associated the word with her book of Bible songs.
I often wonder if a child actually connects with the Lord and knows him better than some or most of us. Some things are just very strange and hard to explain. For example, I will sometimes read a little book of Bible inspired stories with Bible versus to Annabelle in the mornings during breakfast that my mom used to read to my brother and me as a child. After I read the story, I will read the Bible verses from the Bible too.
I started reading this book back in October 2006 off and on. Then, I got busy, and I stopped reading it to her for awhile. Then, one day a long time ago (probably in March or April), before she was saying much of anything, I swore she pointed to the Bible and said, "Bye bull."
And, one day within the last month or so, we were all going shopping, hubby, Annabelle and me. I asked Annabelle what she was going to buy. She said, "bye bull." Hubby heard her too as he said, "That is going in the blog!" It never did officially make it into the blog (until this evening though).
Maybe that is why young children inspire so many parents to start attending church. I know hubby and I really need to get going with that as Annabelle is only getting older! She needs us to keep her close to the Lord (as she apparently already is close to Him right now).
