Cinnamon Rolls

We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast this past Saturday as a special treat. Annabelle enjoyed one cinnamon roll, but she didn't seem overly enthralled in them. She wanted no more, only one!

But, on Sunday morning I asked her, "Annabelle, what would you like for breakfast this morning?"

"A cinna-nen roll," she replied instantly without any hesitation.

I told her, "Sweetheart, we ate them all yesterday. There aren't any cinnamon rolls left."

You would have thought that I snapped at her in pure meanness for nothing! Her bottom lip rolled over her top lip, her mouth began to quiver, and then she buried her head into my arm and started crying. She was fighting back those tears! Where does a two year old learn to try and hold back tears?

She finally calmed down, and I promised her that we'd buy her some more cinnamon rolls. Then, as her Daddy was walking out the door later that afternoon to make a quick trip to the grocery store, she stated to him, "Get some cinna-nen rolls Daddy."

Oh I can't stand those moments. C does that all the time. I ask him if he wants something at the store and we get home and it's a melt down. Our passionate kiddos.
