Meet Fancy

If you have a daughter, and you haven't read any of the "Fancy Nancy" books, you should really take a look at them. They are absolutely precious!

If you have read them, then let me introduce "Fancy Annabelle" to you.

This afternoon after lunch, Annabelle headed to her room and came back undressed with only the above Care Bear jean dress pulled on top of her head. She told me, "I'm getting fancy!"

She couldn't get the dress over her head because she needed to unbutton some buttons first. So, I encouraged her to first put on a pink turtleneck underneath first even though she preferred another purple dress with a white turtleneck to go under the Care Bear jean dress. It wouldn't have fit underneath, and this time, she didn't put up too much of a fuss. She likes to play dress up in layers of dresses sometimes.

I helped her dress in the pink turtleneck and Care Bear jean dress, and I then went about my business cleaning up after lunch.

She knew we were headed shopping very shortly, and she was getting dressed to go. I kept hearing her say, "I'm getting fancy!" And then, she'd run to the front with yet another accessory.

By the time she was finished, she was dressed in the following:

  1. Pink turtleneck,
  2. Care Bear jean dress
  3. "Sparkly purple pink" princess shoes
  4. Hello Kitty socks (which she was already wearing)
  5. Tea party hat from Adie's birthday party
  6. Fake pearl necklace from Adie's birthday party
  7. Silver "hooker" belt (as hubby and I like to call it)
  8. Pink and green ladybug and butterfly bracelet
  9. McDonald's pink Barbie ring (although I don't think you can actually see it in the above picture)
  10. Tigger backpack
  11. Lip gloss in one pocket
  12. Flip cell phone in the other pocket

I added the pink leggings as the final touch so her little legs wouldn't get cold.

And, off to Costco we went, accessories and all! You wouldn't believe the number of compliments she got on that hat in one outing. She absolutely LOVES that hat! Thank you Miss Kelley and Adie for bringing so much joy to one little girl!

We had to also visit her Daddy on the way home so he could meet "Fancy" himself. I absolutely LOVE the above picture! That's my sweet fancy girl!

Thank goodness for the times we can actually enjoy having a little girl for a change. Not that I would give a single one of the little boys back. I just love having the little girl.

I love it. That's so awesome that you let her dress up like that - they're only 3 once ;) C wore his cape I made him out of fleece EVERYWHERE today. Gotta love no-sew fleece :) The big girl bed will be great. Christopher is outgrowing his crib and needs a twin but we just can't swing it right now with all that's going on. HUGS - take care of those babies they are treasure from heaven!
