When asked how much something costs when we are playing pretend, Annabelle will tell me, "Free or four bucks." Translation: Three or four bucks. She started using this saying a few months ago, and I'm not sure where she got it from. I can only guess I've probably had this conversation with hubby a time or two.
I remember specifically that she used this terminology when we vacationed in Hilton Head back in April because she was pretending to buy onion rings to use with her ketchup packets. We had ketchup packets from Wendy's, and she used her very own imagination to decide to buy onion rings which she also clarified were from the "Barsity." Translation: Varsity.
So, this evening, hubby asks Annabelle, "How much do you love Mommy?"
Annabelle's response: "Three or four bucks."
I'll take it! Even though she only loves me as much as an order of onion rings.
