Water Colors

Annabelle opened the $1 pack of water colors today that I bought for her at the Dollar Tree many months ago. I am wondering why I didn't open these sooner. Oh yes, it is coming to me, because I didn't want to deal with the mess. But, keep in mind, I bought the silly pack!

So, in all honestly, I am glad that she did finally open them. She did a really good job of keeping everything on the table, and she made a beautiful picture for Mommy to keep and another for Daddy to take to the office (per her Daddy's request). I believe that purple was one of the very first colors she used to paint. This first picture is my very favorite!

And, if you look closely, you can see in the next picture that she doesn't quite get to gently stir her paint brush in each color. Instead, she pushes the paintbrush into the color and pulls up a big glob of paint. And, she also doesn't quite get why I gave her a cup of water to dip her paintbrush into. She'll dip the paintbrush into the water, but she first will put her paintbrush into several different colors before she cleans it off. She has also told us, "I don't like black!" I cannot blame her though. It is a rather dreary color.

And, the look in this next picture is so Annabelle! She has sat back to study the colors, maybe to decide which color to use next. Look at her little lips puckered together. She's quite the artist!

Yes! Those three pictures are real Annabelle pictures. But what I noticed most was that in the first picture she was using her left hand, and in the next two her right hand. She always seems to be fine with using either hand, no matter what she is doing. Another new thing she has learned!!

Give her an art lesson...explain to her that everything will be bladk as long as she continues to dip her brush in all different colors without washing them out. I don't see her using my colors very soon! I like mine kept nice and pristeen so she needs to practice.

But they are adorable pictures, I have to admit and yes, she loves her purple.
